Jim Power and the Mosaic Trail

Once Etsy’s video team heard that Jim Power a.k.a Mosaic Man had opened an Etsy shop we knew wanted to tell his story. Jim’s mosaics are stunning, he is a great character and part of the fabric of the Lower East Side in NYC. My mom worked in LES in the mid-80s when Jim started his Mosaic Trail, so it was wonderful revisiting that era through my research as well as getting to know Jim and his amazing work. Read the Etsy blog post: etsy.me/mosaicmanetsy

Please support Jim’s efforts by purchasing a belt buckle on Etsy, a tee shirt on Cafe Press or making a donation on his site.

Update – The video was picked up by The Paris Review, NYT East Village Local blog and Gothamist. It was also chosen as a Vimeo Staff Pick, so cool.
