Had a terrific time wandering around the WFMU Record Fair, seeing old friends and digging for vinyl. Wound up mostly buying country rock from my pal Dan at theĀ Gimme Gimme Records booth, including the above Billy Burnette and Bamboo lps.
Sesame Street Show Open 1998-2001
This Sesame Street show open was my first big editing gig at Smash Advertising when I was just starting out. At the time I was Smash’s in-house editor, cutting demo reels, ripomatics for pitches and topical promos for Comcast. Cutting the opening theme to Sesame Street felt huge! After that I edited several segments for History Channel’s Time Lab 2000 series with Rick Beyer. My time at Smash was formative and I am so thank to Marilyn, Mark, Linda and Rick for giving me a shot.
Handmade Portraits: Rob Ryan
Last spring I visited a cozy nook in Bethnal Green, London to shoot artist Rob Ryan for Etsy. He and his band of merry helpers spend their days paper-cutting fantastic worlds of love, friendship and longing. It’s hard not to feel an emotional response toward Rob Ryan’s work: it’s timeless in its approach and includes positive missives like “Believe in People” and “Our Adventure Is About to Begin.” What could be a greater way to celebrate the world than acknowledging the beauty in the everyday?

Bert Jansch R.I.P.
We lost a great man today, Bert Jansch passed away after battling cancer. I am thankful to have seen him perform and have told him what his music meant to me. Rest well Bert.
