Etsy rocks the docs…and should be in a fest near you

My old pal, media consultant Brian Newman of Spring Board Media wrote the wonderful article below about Etsy’s mini documentaries. Thank you Brian for being so supportive of our efforts and writing such a glowing review of the Etsy’s videos! I would be thrilled if our work were seriously considered for screening at a documentary festival… Someday…

Going along with this earlier post on the need for new thinking about docs…..I have another pet theory:

It’s a crime that none of the major documentary festivals have bothered to show the Etsy short docs. What are these? Etsy has hired a team to make short docs about the artists and crafts-people who sell on Etsy, and while your gut reaction might be that this isn’t art, they are pretty well made.

Fug on Film

Sadly, this past summer the great underground rock revolutionary Beat poet Tuli Kupferberg passed away. This evening Tuli was remembered in two film programs at the Anthology Film Archives presented by Arthur Magazine. Director Paul Lovelace dug deep into the Kupferberg archive to find the dozens of incredible Tuli moments that were included.
